Early in 2011 a network of knitters was formed. They are busy recruiting knitters and identifying projects. We wish them luck. If you're reading this in South Africa and want to help, Lisa will be happy to tell you how. South Africa email South Africa Irish teddy distribution started in 2010, after a suggestion that instead of sending teddies to UK they might be given to Irish charities and volunteers. From small beginnings the Irish network grows. Ireland email Ireland Teddy knitting was taken to Canada by Gisele Toth, who gave Teddies for Tragedies it's first internet presence and there are more Canadian websites celebrating teddy production and delivery. More Teddy knitting countries

Teddies are knitted in these European countries and probably more. Most of them are sent or brought to the UK for distribution but watch this space as more countries follow Ireland's example and... France Italy Finland Germany Netherlands Spain   Teddies knitted in UK arrived in Istanbul on their way to earthquake victims and numbers increased with locally knitted teddies. Well done Türkiye.   Let's not forget the knitters in Malaysia who supplied extra teddies to a British school group visiting an orphanage or Kenya, where local women are knitting for their own community.
