The teddy movement has spread abroad

This page is a celebration of teddy knitting and distribution throughout the world.
Anyone can knit them, anyone can give them and everyone can love them

Countries with Teddy networks

South Africa Early in 2011 a network of knitters was formed. They are busy recruiting knitters and identifying projects. We wish them luck.
If you're reading this in South Africa and want to help, Lisa will be happy to tell you how.

Ireland Irish teddy distribution started in 2010, after a suggestion that instead of sending teddies to UK they might be given to Irish charities and volunteers. From small beginnings the Irish network grows. Well done Ireland

Australia Quote from Australian Red Cross website:

Red Cross volunteers knit the Trauma Teddies that are distributed to Canberra hospitals, schools, ambulance and fire stations.

The pattern isn't the same, but the philosohy is.
